Welcome to this vivid reality, where colour, story and curiosity collide
The older I get, the more I hear people refer to me as Jannie. I’m an artist known for using vibrant colours that hit first and ask questions later.
I don’t always know what I’m feeling, and truthfully it doesn’t really matter. The energetic churn of my emotions inspires my creativity, and I use vibrant colour, symbolism, and layout to release that energy onto canvas. Art is my unapologetic processing laid bare.
My style blends realism, symbolism, and an eclectic edge. It stares down any illusions of easy calm, the grind for stability, and the quiet search for meaning — all while life keeps twisting.
Each finished painting contains an oracle: a thought-seed planted for self-reflection or deeper contemplation. These are simply awareness invitations as we navigate our place in this ever-changing, tilting world.
As a creative person I bench press life’s challenges and celebrations through visual art
In plain terms, transforming inner and outer reality takes neural energy — and that’s exactly what I’m transferring onto canvas.
The Story, the Process, the Expansion
The Story
ARTby Jannie emerged where survival’s weight met the choice to live. I paint the emotional tilt — life’s continual re-creation without collapse — drawing courage and strength from inlet mists, ancestral threads, and the (mostly) quiet alchemy of transmuting many old neural patternings.
They are my quiet, yet colourful, assertions of heartfulness over dense noises — offered for anyone navigating their own shifts.
The Process
My studio space serves as a small sacred battleground. Brushes raised, acrylic paints splattering, moods shifting — while journeys, seascapes, landscapes, dream beings and ancestral whispers leap to life.
Transformation shows up in the everyday returns. Not a dramatic chrysalis burst, but the simple repeated act of coming back to what nourishes — brush to canvas, intuition steering every stroke.
The Expansion
Paintings often appear through their own whispered prose, always inviting self-reflection or asserting bold new viewpoints — turning peaks, valleys, fractures, and beautiful absurdities into visual stories.
